OUR STORY

It takes a village of parents, stakeholders and investors to prepare our children for global leadership

We are part of that village

Diaspora Global Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) (3) certified charitable educational organization.  Our focus and mission is to serve the educational needs of children of color that are underserved within our current educational system .  This desire was born out of the concern that although we have guided, supported and prepared our children for market participation, leadership and innovation, there remains countless other children that have not received the level of support and guidance that is needed to move forward successfully in a competitive and expanding global marketplace and especially in the area of STEM, (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

In the spring of 2020, the covid 19 pandemic, caused a global shutdown of all public and private educational instructions in all grade levels.  Many parents were unprepared for the shifting of the core responsibility of education back to the home. There was massive chaos when the entire global educational community was forced to adapt to the "new learning" normal.  Without formal training or even regular practice, many families were left in crisis not fully understanding or willing to accept their new role as educators, coach and mentors in the lives of their children.

To us this was a painful reminder of how we have allowed our public educational system to manage our children's educational journey without us.  In response to this crisis and the need for educational guidance, we created a series of educational podcast to provide information and to support parents though this transitional period. We invited parents, stakeholders, and market experts to participate in the conversations.

The response to our podcast series was very positive.  However, we felt the need to do more and serve our communities and our children better.  We started planning and strategizing.  We focused on creating an organization that can give our children and their families more information, training and resources.

In October of 2020, we founded Diaspora Global Foundation.

The work of the organization is to create educational programs and initiatives that will help close the educational gap in STEM, reading comprehension and financial literacy for our children and their parents, and to prepare our children for global market participation and leadership.  Although our educational focus is STEM, the resources and tools we give them can be applied in any area of life, work or study.

Our initiatives

We invite you to join us by supporting, partnering and investing with us in the education of our future global leaders.  Our investments in their education will impact their lives and our collective social and economic future.

FALL 2023 - Fall 2024

Diaspora Global Foundation is excited to announce the full support                                                            and encouragement  of  new First LEGO League, (FLL) Robotics Teams in the Fayetteville,  Peachtree City,  Newnan, College Park and Fairburn areas.

Our personal home once hosted a LEGO Robotics team that won the highest award in State Competition for that year. We experienced this amazing process and encourage schools, parents and other stakeholders to get involve, support, encourage and expose  our young children towards STEM innovation and market leadership.

We have been approach to partner with several other organizations wishing to get more involved

in STEM Education,  what we are doing and to reach a broader educational audience in our local community and abroad.  We are planning for fall 2023 and beyond to increase our capacity to help more, offer more and to meet both the demand and interest in STEM, as well as that of our Foundation.

We are very grateful and thankful to all our camp and event attendees, parents, stakeholders, supporters, and instructors for making this summer wonderful.  We look forward to posting our series of fall STEM event including our Life Inspiration Podcasts series soon.

“Education is the great engine of  personal development. It is through education that  the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president

of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.”
